Week 9 Part B: Using Categories

I think I could use categories like "Family Activities," "Weekend Outings," Weekday Outings," "Staycations," "Near-cations" (my own name haha), "Favorite restaurants", "Hidden gems" and "Holiday activities."

I feel like these are things I'd want to see if I was looking for things to do. And if I could get sponsored posts or affiliate links, that would help my business grow; maybe even include a category for "Local products we recommend" or something.

I know when I was looking to take my family to Seattle, I googled "3 day itinerary for familes in Seattle," and I came across two blog posts that were super helpful. They also clearly had affiliate links and I'm sure get a ton of web traffic. So posts like that could be really beneficial from the business end for me if I can figure out how to get my search engine marketing down and maybe do some sitelinks/hone in on some good keywords for my blog to get more hits.

I did two posts on my IG that I also shared on Facebook. Here are the screenshots

I commented on Encinitas Donuts', Pablo's and Max's blogs on Personal touches so far. At this point, no one else had posted on their blogs about that topic.

  1. Great suggestion! A personal touch I think will help with your business is making reels of the adventure you and your family partake in. For us, we are currently in fall break, and I need some ideas to take my 3- and 6-year-old.

Wk15A: Using Google Analytics to Improve your Marketing: FA22 CSIT 155 1574

I think I could use Google Analytics to see how many page views I'm getting, what time of day, how much people interact with my site, etc. I had a chance to look at what my site is doing now, and it was interesting to see how many new users I had and how long they stayed on my site.  From the reading, I was reminded to check out “What’s Trending” in various social media to see what people are talking about. I believe that was also a tip mentioned in the textbook. For example, if parents in San Diego are posting about crowded xmas tree lots, I could write a post on the "Least crowded xmas tree farms" or "Most affordable places to get your xmas tree this year." I also think I could use Google ads to increase my brand presence and target people searching for things to do in San Diego or people who had looked at similar blogs, perhaps.  It's interesting that you can also anticipate future customer actions with Google’s machine learning. That's a really cool ...

Week 6 Part B: Creating and Scheduling FaceBook Posts

This was fun! I am having a great time exploring my classmate's pages and seeing their posts. Here are the ones I visited/commented on: Amy Mather: https://www.facebook.com/Protein4PetsVista/ Kristy Yam: https://www.facebook.com/EncinitasDonuts Pablo Correa: https://www.facebook.com/PurpleTsunamiClothing/ I also posted a few things on my page ( North County Fam ) and scheduled a few upcoming posts (all below). I think these posts will engage my audience because they are fun upcoming events, include questions and utilize colorful, easy-to-view images. I'm curious to see how people engage with them!
